I am obssed with edward cullen too. I think this is a good idea as all the people who like twilight can finally talk about it without the twilight haters butting in tell you its alot of rubbish. I totally agree with you SparkleViolet I am not on that website but i am going to join because it seems really good.

So what is everybodys favourite part in the whole twilight saga and why?

Well I obviously LOVE Twilight. My friends and family say that i am obsesed with Twilight but i don't care.

My favourite part has to be the meadow in Twilight because it is the first time Bella and Edward are really alone together and you find out more about Edward and the other Cullens.

My favourite character has to be Alice or Edward but I do not like Jacob at all. He just really annoys me. Can't he see Bella wants to be with Edward and not him??

I know loads of people who don't like Jacob because he's annoying and like Midnight says he needs to just leave Bella alone but i reckon that's what makes him so great!!! Most of her other characters are total fiction and hardly believable but that's what makes Jacob real!! <3

Guys, while it doesn't bother me that you have your own thread (in fact I whole-heartedly support the idea and think it's great), please try not to bash those who don't agree with you (that goes for twilight-haters as well!)

SparkleViolet, because your comment about Twilight haters was very mild and because I hadn't posted a warning yet (I would have posted one anyway) I'm going to let it slide. Just don't let it happen again. In fact, even if the warning had been posted already I would probably have let it slide because it isn't really bashing but more of an opinion.

I love those two songs as well. I love Paramore and when i heard they had wrote a song for twilight i was like OMG ! But they are not writing a song for new moon as they dont want to be called "the Twilight band"! I love Rob Pattinsons song it is amazing. He is a really good musician :D

EDIT: OMG i just found out that New moon is being released in the UK on the 20th of November (same day as in US) instead of the 27th when it was supposed to be out :D :D :D :D

I just found out that a brand new "new moon" trailer is being released at the VMA awards. In america on the 13th of september and 14th of september in the UK and Ireland xD Also there are lots of new "new moon" posters been released :D I have my copy :)

Oh heavens, new moon broke my heart! It's what made me officially fall for the series, because I felt it very adequately portrayed depression (without giving too much away) and was very well written. I adored the series until (literally) that last 50 pages of the series. I despised the ending, BUT my sister really, really liked it. So don't take our word for whether or not you keep reading a series. If you like it, stick with it. I can admit it was a love it or hate it ending, and I just happened to be one of the "hate its." That doesn't mean you will be though, and I always tell people to read it, because I'm interested to hear their opinion on the matter.

So Nev's advice: keep going. Then you can officially join the debates on one side of the fence or another. :D

I saw New Moon yesterday. I had very low expectations after seeing Twilight, but it was better than I thought it would be. That said, the book is still way better than the movies :)
I was the only one of my friends to not fall in love with Jacob after he took his shirt off. I'm shall always be an Edward girl :D I really don't understand why everyone loves Taylor Lautner so much. He's good looking, but not as much as everyone makes out he is :/

One of my friends who absoulty hated twilight and would always go omg that is so rubbish whenever she heard us talk about it and she read the first 6 chapters of twilight ages ago and decided she hated it. And she went and saw new moon today just because Taylor Lautner was in it! and now decides she loves twilight!!!! Shes not even seen twilight!

Im not being horrible about my friend if it seems that way i was just making a point about how it really annoys me when people just see the film because the people in it!

my sister's been wild about Taylor since the first movie. I will vouch for this fact, because when she first saw the trailer for Twilight she went "oh my gosh he's going to be so hot in the second movie!" And all her friends went "eeew nu-uh!" and now that he's clean cut and buff, they're all swearing that they were in love with him from the start. I was there. Within her group of friends, it was definitely only my sister who saw the potential back then. :D

I guess I've always been a Jacob girl, well not always, but before the movies at least. In the books everyone prefers Edward, I know I did! And then once everyone else started liking him to i changed to Jacob, and I guess I really do prefer him in the books. In the movie it also has to do with the fact that i really am not a fan of Robert Pattinson (and I won't go into a rant here). In the first movie there was hardly any Taylor Lautner, so people didn't pay much attention to him, and then he beefed up and got famous (well more famous anyways). Everyone ooed and aahed when he took his shirt off (I laughed coz it would have been awkward had he been there) and yet no one did when Edward did. It kind of made me feel slightly sorry for him, being pushed out of the limelight like that. And yes, I agree, while Taylor is good-looking, he's not as great as everyone is making him out to be. There are some physical features of his that aren't so great, e.g his nose.
BUT did anyone notice Emmett or Jasper? I personal think that Jasper looked quite nice this time round and I loved Emmett in the first movie.
The movie itself... I preferred twilight. I think the director was better, she included more references to the book (apple anyone?) and the author (muse). Still it was a good movie and I enjoyed it, can't wait for the next one.
And from now on will forever call people marshmallows.

If any ones wondering if I shouldn't read the books or not I think its fine. It's the tipe of book I enjoy so. When we had to do readings in class I picked it and everyone thought it was fine. I know there are probably more suitable books for me to read but at least I don't read the dictiory instead. (Someone in my class does that)

Yes, I saw New Moon when it came out and I loved it! But to be perfectly honest, I had a hard time remembering that I liked Edward whenever Jacob was around, but don't worry, I'm still Team Edward; I'm never switching to Team Jacob!

The best part of the movie for me was when Edward took his shirt off in Volterra; I nearly stopped breathing for a few moments.

Stupid Yahoo News has NO respect for spoiler rules. My poor boyfriend (who positively will not read the books, but has at least agreed to accompany me to the films and has grown mildly interested in the plot) clicked a headline that said "problems with plot in the final twilight film?" only to instantly be shown a link to the story titled "a half human half vampire baby?"

He uttered a string of curses and when I came into the room he went "they were talking about problems with the last book and how to change it into the movie, and the stupid caption said 'half human half vampire baby.' What?!"

I promptly turned around so he wouldn't see my expression and said "I will not comment on that. I will only say that you can be thankful you don't know whether this is something that actually happens, or merely a suggestion for a way to change the story's ending"

This was enough to satisfy him, because I have said regularly that I HATED Twilight's ending, and sincerely hope they are going to completely re-write it for the film. It was enough to give him an inkling of hope that a human-vampire baby was only a random suggestion from the producers. In my opinion, it was such a random, stupid part of the books that I still can't accept that the story ACTUALLY ended that way. So. Freaking. Dumb.

Hate away. I adored the series right up until Bella's pregnancy, and that was about the point that the whole thing instantly went dead to me. From that point on, Stephanie Meyer broke all of the rules that she established about vampires: that they cannot reproduce, that they are ravenous insane monsters as newborn vampires, and that their powers are limited. Not only did Edward and Bella magically produce a child, but once Bella was changed she became an uber-Mary-Sue. Bad writing from every angle.


Also, I went back and read the article after my boyfriend diverted his eyes, and according to it, they are contemplating making Breaking Dawn into two films much like they're doing for Deathly Hallows, but there are several problems:
1) the actors' contracts are only for 4 films, and breaking it into two films means new contracts have to be drawn up
2) Other than the pure WTF factor of Renesme, Meyer is admitting that she has no idea how the character will be portrayed as a newborn, because they can't get a baby that young and CGI sucks for making realistic babies (in her opinion), much less vampire ones.
3) Finally, there's all of the gaping plot holes that the screenplay writers are utterly baffled by.

Honestly, I hope they do the two movie split, and I hope Meyer gives the writers permission to re-do the ending so it actually... oh, I don't know... WORKS. :rolleyes:

I thought the ending could have been better but it has not spoilt my opinion of all the books as a whole. I really hope it is not 2 films.

They were not going to do breaking dawn as it would be a bit tricky but now they are and hope to start filming in 2010 (i just found that out!) they just need to find a director that is up for the challenge. I personally would not want to be the director as it would be pretty hard and people are expecting good things as it is the last film. I just wondered if anyone had heard anything about it as well or if it was just another silly rumour.

Between the brutal beatings Bella took on her wedding night, Edward trying to force her to get rid of the baby, the gruesome birth of the monster child, and oh yeah, that minor problem of a grown man imprinting onto a newborn baby... I imagine all that's going to go over reeeeeal well with people who haven't already been prepared for the ensuing weirdness by reading the books.

Hmm...I don't know if they would decide to make BD. On the one hand, it would very much disappoint fans if they didn't follow through the series. On the other, it would be very difficult to make, and even if they did manage to pull off the whole Renesmee thing, it probably wouldn't be very good.
I personally hope they don't make BD as a movie, simply because it'll most probably make for a terrible film, and would put fans off Twilight :/

We can't figure out some times what it means if your team Edward or Team Jacob.
OK,I always thought if you were Team Edward it meant you wanted Edward and Bella to be a couple and the same for team Jacob.I like Jacob way more then Edward but I'm team Edward cuz I'd want him and Bella to be together...

But now,it seams to us that if you are team Edward or Jacob it can just mean you like them more as characters,not as potential match ups for Bella...

I know for sure that with the books it was whoever you thought should end up with Bella, because I went to the midnight release of the final book and one of the events was a hot debate between the two teams as to who belonged with Bella and why. If anything, the teams have morphed into "who you think is hotter" because of the dumb girls who never read the books, pretend to be screaming twilight fans, but have no idea of the heightened conflicts by the end of Eclipse that split people officially into two groups.

Oh, my God, darling. I know EXACTLY what you mean. I've been sent out of classes God knows how many times for starting fights about Twilight. In English once, we were... "Debating" about it. I agree with Sunlight. If the teams we based on just the movies, Jacob would have almost all of the Twilight fans on his side. Not only because of his looks, but because Edward acts like a complete jerk in the film, while Jacob is nice. Wheras in the book, you see that Edward is not like how he is portrayed in the film, and is much more likeable (in my opinion, anyway :p)
Because of this, I think it has changed from the teams consisting of people who read the books and like the characters more for who they are, to more superficial teams of people who watched the movies, mostly being in love with Jacob and his non-shirted-ness :/

It would matter for the parents who think that Twilight is a good role model, a good growing up book (for those who haven't read it, etc). How would an R-rated movie aimed at a teenage audience go over? And I know that lots of teenagers have seen R-rated movies (I know I have), but when it's a book FOR teenagers, it shouldn't be R-rated. They have an age restriction for a reason.
