Quite some time ago, Egmont interviewed Jenny Nimmo about the Charlie Bone books. At long last, the interview is ready to go up on the main CB website...

but...

Because you guys are the real diehard fans of the series, Egmont wants YOU to get the first peek at it! So before it goes up on the website for everyone to see, you guys get to check it out first! :) How cool is that?!

Check out the interview here! (http://www.charlie-bone.com/interviews/jennyNimmo.html)

If you post spoilers from earlier books, or your own theories based on what Jenny said, please be sure to use spoiler tags

I know The Red Knight has come out and the series has ended since this interview. Please DO NOT post Red Knight Spoilers (even if you use tags. no no no) in this thread while discussing what Jenny shares in the interview. She was very careful not to give spoilers to the end of the series, and we should be, too.

Then I guess you missed the end where she talks about some of the stuff like how she wants to

write a special book all about Uncle Paton once The Red King series is done!

That would be so insanely awesome!

It's like... twenty minutes long... perhaps you could listen in on a friend's computer?

How come it's not playing on yours? Maybe we can troubleshoot?

Whoa it was 20 minutes long? Haha, I was doing my homework while listening to it, didn't realise it was around 20 minutes long. :p

I hope she does write a book about Paton. I'm sure he had an interesting life, I would soo read it. xD The Red King trilogy, not so much.. well maybe. Well if she does write all those books it'll take around 5 years. Guess I get to read it when I'm in (hopefully) uni? ;D

Really? You're not very into the history surrounding The Red King? That's my favorite subject in the books! When Jenny gets to that part, it's where I stop fidgeting and sit up straight! :D I can't wait for those books!

I'm actually not sure how long it was, now that I think about it. I paused it for a few minutes while I was listening because I got distracted (as usual, haha), but it seemed like I was sitting on the floor for an awfully long time (don't ask me why I was sitting on the floor. I prefer to. I'm weird like that). Long enough that my back started to hurt, anyway... I think that's generally about 20 minutes. :p

I'm not a big fan of history (it's actually the class I hate the most) but.. I am curious to know about the Red King's era and stuff. When it does come out, it won't be a book I 'have' to see...

You know what stratch that. xD The more I think about it, the more interested I get. Nevermind. :p

I also found it cool that Jenny was well aware that not every reader favored Charlie, and that she knew all about the Manfred fan club, the Olivia-nuts and the Paton-fanatics. I think it's cool when an author can acknowledge that their main character isn't always the favorite.

I remember hearing once that she was also planning on writing books in the Red King series that focused more on other characters from Charlie Bone... was she referring to the Red King saga, the Paton book, or does she have plans to write books about, say Asa?

Although, I've noticed that the later books in the series aren't afraid to wander away from Charlie and go follow Billy or Emma for awhile. Is this what she meant when she said she wanted books that focused on characters other than Charlie?

I got all excited about it!
But for not being good at keeping secrects she gave very little away.

And she said the end would be surpiseing...hmmm

I guess there won't be any more I wonder how to pronouse that names, she seemed to get all the hard ones.

She likes Manfred. "He was born dreadful." xD

Bloors being based on her first boarding school? :/ Ouch.

The showdown is b/w Dagbert and his father. NOT TANCRED. Good. :D

Surprises? I hate surprises.

PATON'S OWN BOOK!! <3333333

Pay-ton?

Oh, you silly British.

Well, because in the US, it's commonly spelled Peyton, so I guess I just naturally assumed it wasn't pronounced the same way...
