Fans of the hugely popular Lemony Snicket stories can look forward to a new series in 2012, according to publishing industry website Bookseller on August 25.

The series, which does not yet have a name, will contain four titles, the first of which will be published in hardback in 2012.

The books have sold more than 60 million copies worldwide and were the basis for a popular movie starring comedian Jim Carrey.

The popular series, titled A Series of Unfortunate Events, has been noted for its grimness for a children's book.

Lemony Snicket is a pseudonym used by author Daniel Handler. According to Bookseller, "When asked to comment, Lemony Snicket said: 'I can neither confirm nor deny that I have begun research into a new case, and I can neither confirm nor deny that the results are as dreadful and unnerving as A Series Of Unfortunate Events. By the way, who is this?'"

I am not kidding:

I get a little flutter in my chest, and misty-eyed with excitement every time I realize that there are more books by Snicket yet to come.

I still can't decide whether I want the books to cover the history of VFD, the tragic love story between Lemony and Beatrice, or follow Baby Beatrice on her post-ASoUE adventures (we know from the Beatrice Letters that she was separated from the Baudelaires at some point). In the same breath, the Quagmires certainly deserve their side of the story (seriously, how DID they move from the Orphan's Shack into the Prufrock dorms?)... ack. There's so many different directions that he can take the next series! All I know is that whatever he chooses to do, it's certain to be a brilliant work of brilliance. :D

Well, I must admit I didn't like the series now as much as I did before, but I do think a new series in the ASOUE universe; I don't think Lemony Snicket is quite done yet.

Omg,I can finally get on this thread.I've tried clicking it so many times and it just comes up saying "Sorry you cannot access this web page."or something.*take deep breath*I'M SO EXITED!:D:D:DI'm so happy Mr.Snicket will be writer more of his amazing stories.I wonder what it'll be about...?Ohh,maybe it will be the story of what happens to the Quagmires!!Or just other characters part of V.F.D....:p
