Okay, I'm not going to oppose your opinions, but to actually make this thread with substance let me point out that Manfred is still a child, yes I know he becomes a assistant teacher and all so he's practically an adult, but is it really his fault or was he just brought up that way? I dunno, maybe he really is just a bad guy with a cold heart, but I mean Cinderalla's step sisters were brought up to hate and want the best of the best. Is it really their fault their mean or is it just the way they were brought up?
I dunno, truthfully any answer could be right. *shrugs*

I would like to write my first post in theis forum to pledge my support to Manfred haters. I really disliked him throughout the books, and in addition to being evil he doesn't even seem like an interesting character: He's a spoiled brat and his evil often seems very one-dimensional, evil, evil and evil :P I really don't see him as attractive, he's described as scrawny with thin strands of hair, beginning of mustache (major turn-off).

I can't see him as some sort of tragic character either, he broke the fingers of his own mother for pete's sake! :mad: not to mention imprisoning people in pits, hypnotising them, turning them against each other and generally making people's lives difficult. He seems like a classic bully, he abuses and threatens those weaker than him to get what he wants (and probably boost his own ego)and doesn't seem to be able to empathise with anyone other than himself, not to mention being cowardly, whiny, spineless, un-masculine and despicable...

I wonder if that sums it up, I hope manfred's fangirls wont kill me! :D You are entitled to your opinions, this is mine and you are free to fantasise about him (yeah dream on :p) sorry :p I really dont like him, if anyone deserves a good smack in the face it's him! :D
